It's Halloween week, so it makes sense that criminals in costumes factor into the weirdest crime stories of the week:
Things go wrong after Halloween parties: A 26-year-old woman dressed as a zombie in Gates, N.Y., got charged with DWI about 2 a.m. Saturday after driving without her headlights on. A friend picked up Catherine Butler from the station, but three hours later, she was again arrested ... for a crime that police say a woman dressed as Hello Kitty also committed.
Cops: Yellow Teletubby breaks into house, fridge: When a Teletubby gets hungry, there's no telling what it will do. A college student dressed up as Laa-Laa— the yellow one — attended a Halloween party, then allegedly broke into a friend's house, removed something out of the fridge, and "dumped it into his man purse."
Underwear-stealing suspect lives up to her name: California cops say they arrested a woman named Josephine on suspicion of commercial burglary after she allegedly walked out of her local Kohl's with women's underwear stuffed in her purse. The 49-year-old was also said to have had wire cutters and scissors on her. But the craziest part of this story is Josephine's last name.
Dear burglars: Don't forget to flush: A man believed to have stolen $250,000 worth of jewels from a New Mexico home might have gotten away with it if he could've waited to quench his thirst. Instead, police say suspect Ramon Herrera helped himself to a can of Coke from the fridge of the home he was burglarizing, and also apparently stopped by the bathroom before he left but neglected to flush. Thanks to these things, police were able to track him down.
Johnny Cash's son strips down to skivves in airport: In an incident his father probably could've turned into a pretty good country song, an allegedly drunken John Carter Cash, son of Johnny and June, was arrested after he ripped off all his clothes (save his underwear) at a Canadian airport. By the time officers arrived, security personnel had persuaded the 44-year-old singer to put his clothes back on. Find out why no one pressed charges against him.
